People only know if you viewed their profile if you both have the same profile tracker (eg. http://yuniti.com/myspace ). Otherwise they don't know.

their view count goes up but they cant tell who it was that looked at thier profile and i dnt know about favorite but i doubt it.

on the favorites there's an option to make them public or private. if you don't make them private I think they know.
Also they can see if you've viewed their profile if they have tracking software. I don't know if they can tell specifically who you are but they know in a general way.
